The brief

Creating both a brand identity as well as the design and build of a web based system allowing users to search for and bid for properties online. The system would feature the ability to re-deploy on sub-domains allowing the client to ‘re-sell’ the service to other estate agents who can manage their accounts via a powerful content management solution.

With the property market being hit hard by the recent credit crunch estate agents are having to be increasingly creative in the way in which they market their clients property. The team at I Am Sold developed a concept for an online service that provides vendors with a fee-free way of selling their house as well as offering estate agents a fully managed online auction service allowing them to add real value to their business.

This was a complex project and our tried and tested development process ensured that functional objectives were not only met but exceeded. We began by ensuring that there was a detailed specification of what the system needed to deliver before mapping, wire-framing and prototyping it until we, and the client, were clear on how every aspect of the system needed to work.

We then moved onto the design phase of the project in which usability and flexibility were central factors, ensuring that the search and bidding processes are totally intuitive and the user journey clearly signposted to I Am Sold’s desired goals. Because of the ‘white box’ nature of the service i.e. it needed to be easily re-badged and deployed on behalf of other agents, the design was kept simple with an emphasis on clarity and brand neutrality.

Once the key page layouts were signed off the build phase commenced turning the concept into a working reality. During this phase we continually tested every aspect of the system to make sure that it worked in line with our original specification and also making minor adjustments to the functionality as required in order to maximize the usability of the solution for I Am Sold.

Users can quickly create an account, search for, watch and bid on properties that they are interested in. When they add properties to their ‘watch’ list I Am Sold automatically updates them on any bid activity against the selected property, if they want to place a bid the system will also bid on their behalf up to a user defined maximum amount.

For estate agents it is now simple to set up a self-branded online property auction - a service fully managed by the experienced team at I Am Sold who can quickly set up a site for an agent, customised with their branding and contact details within minutes.

Subscribed agents have access to a dashboard allowing them to add properties into the auction system and monitor them via realtime statistics displayed in the dashboard.

The result is a powerful sales and marketing tool that allows estate agents to engage with prospective buyers in an innovative way extending their reach into market as well as accessing a large stock of ‘collective’ properties.
