The brief
Our task was to conceptualise, design and produce a new direct mailer that has been sent to households all across the North East of England informing the audience what St Oswalds do and further raise awareness of the hospice’s activities encouraging people to sign up to a regular giving scheme.
St Oswalds provides hospice care for adults and children. Situated in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, their purpose-built facilities offer a range of specialist care to North East adults and children with life limiting conditions. Komodo are proud to have worked with them in the conceptualisation, creative direction and production of a new direct mail asset aimed at raising awareness of their amazing work.
The concept behind the piece is simple, a focus on the people behind St Oswalds and their relationships with their patients. The Komodo design team story-boarded the concept in detail before commissioning top local photographer Philip Hunton to take the pictures that would form the visual focal point of the DM piece.
The images are portraits of the patients shown alongside their carers with quotes from them telling their story of how St Oswalds has played a major role in their ongoing quality of life and well being.
In support of the direct mailer Komodo have also produced an electronic version of the mailer that is delivered via our e-marketing tool Komodomail along with rolling out the concept into an Ad-Shell poster campaign.
