Embark - One North East
The brief
To bring an established B2B publication for Darlington Borough Council online, developing a digital channel that will connect the magazine with a new audience and improve accessibility whilst retaining its existing readership.
In order to maximise this new channel of delivery Komodo developed an edition orientated e-magazine published as either a ‘standard’ or ‘extra’ version. The digital version of the magazine runs parallel to a printed version.
Latest content is the focus of the website but users can easily view archives of previous editions and the content is fully searchable by both key word and category.
RSS functionality is a given and has been incorporated into the solution as is content management allowing the team at Darlington Borough Council’s Business Engagement Team to rapidly create and edit each edition on-demand and internally.
We have also integrated a powerful e-marketing mechanism - Komodomail - which allows each new edition to be promoted to the business community of Darlington via dedicated e-marketing campaigns that feedback detailed statistics on open rates, click throughs as well as other key campaign metrics.
Our design approach was clear - the extension and evolution of the existing Interface brand in line with the project objectives of making the publication more accessible by a wider audience whilst still maintaining its appeal to its loyal readership and fully supporting the printed publication.
