The brief
Create an identity that speaks to and engages with a national home improvement audience then design and develop a website that allows visitors to find an answer to just about any question they have about building and DIY.
Aimed at the amateur home improver get Building is all about connecting people to the right info or people to get the jobs they want doing done!
The amount of information that the site does and will accommodate is huge so information architecture was a key part of this project with the different areas carefully signposted so that as the site grows information remains easy to access and find.
The Komodo team were keen to produce an extendible design solution that really worked for the user whilst still presenting a richly branded environment that wasn’t completely driven by text as a key identifier and point of difference for the GetBuilding.co.uk proposition.
The site features an intelligent ‘tag based’ banner advertising system that delivers banners to pages based on the relevance to the user - all of which is controlled via the content management system driving the site.
Komodomail, our e-marketing tool, has also been integrated with the site and allows for capture of data and the quick production of highly targeted e-mail campaigns which are produced and delivered at a fraction of the cost of conventional print based mailers - with the added bonus of detailed campaign statistics showing how many people opened the e-mail and what links they clicked.
