The brief
Komodo were appointed to rebrand innovative search technology specialist Grapeshot. Also, to design and build them a website enabling visitors to quickly understand what Grapeshot does presenting a compelling business case to a discerning and savvy audience.
Essentially, Grapeshot technology pulls the real meaning from ‘enabled’ web pages, profiling visitors in realtime and intelligently serving content and media that is more meaningful to individuals.
This maximises advertising yields for online publishers because users are served content and advertising closely matching their interests making them up to five times more likely to click through to view or find out more about it.
There were three key design challenges in this project that Komodo addressed:
1) Explaining the technology simply and quickly
2) Communicating the business case strongly
3) Ensuring the company credentials were made clear
The Grapeshot website structure is designed to lead the user through a journey of I get it, I want it, I trust it. We achieved this by designing a layered site structure leading the user through this journey clearly and easily.
In order to communicate how the technology works and to make the Grapeshot proposition ‘easy to get’ we developed an interactive area using Flash that allows users to play with how the technology works with drag and drop interactivity illustrating the overarching idea of how Grapeshot serves more meaning content to individuals elegantly.
Targeted primarily at online publishers, a key aim of the brief was to ensure the business case was strongly presented without being excessively technical and so the pages that break down and explain the benefits of Grapeshot are clearly structured and signposted.
Underpinning Grapeshot is technology at the leading edge of the search industry, people that are acknowledged world experts and clients that cannot fail to impress. Their credentials both build trust and confidence and have been clearly integrated to strongly support a compelling presentation.
Information architecture and user experience were a key aspect to this project and heavily informed the design process throughout. Komodo’s solution for Grapeshot is a demonstration of our expertise in getting to the core of complex propositions and making them appealing, engaging and interesting to target audiences.
The goal of the site is to generate interest, awareness, desire and trust in a new and groundbreaking technology - in real terms, creating conversations and winning business.
