The brief
When ‘head bunny’ Gerry Roxby appointed Komodo to create a brand that would convey the glamour and exclusivity of her retro styled creations our design team immediately got work researching the styles of the 1940’ and 50’s.
We quickly found inspiration in the curvaceous illustrative style that was prevalent of that era and applied a modern twist to the classic pin up style. The logo is based on a curvy pin up character and the type style influenced by movie posters of the time.
The colour scheme was centered around a very girlie powder pink and we used further patterns, textures and imagery that paint a picture of femininity and fun 50’s style!
Philip Hunton shot a series of mood images in a 50’s style diner here in Newcastle as well as a series of shots that highlight the garments which combine with our brand elemnst to produce an eye catching and provocative website and brochure that showcases Gerry’s fashion perfectly.
